Justin Lintern

Justin is returning for his sixth year at RDS. He is looking forward to bringing a lot of energy and enthusiasm to his roles as the Grade 4 homeroom teacher.

Justin holds a bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management from Acadia University with a focus on Outdoor Leadership and Experiential Education. He obtained a Graduate Diploma in Teaching Primary and Junior at the University of Auckland, and is entering his seventh year as a certified teacher. Previous to teaching Justin was employed as an In Hospital Recreation Programmer for Camp Oochigeas, a not for profit camp for children affected by cancer. He continues to volunteer at Camp Ooch and previously taught a Grade 11 leadership course up at Camp for three summers.

Over the last three years Justin has taken on the role of Student Leadership Coordinator and helps to facilitate the Grade 7 & 8 Leadership program as well as working with our RDS prefects.

Justin’s passions inside the classroom include encouraging reading for enjoyment, active / experiential learning, and a strong focus on developing M.E.S.H. (Mindsets, Essential Skills, and Habits) within his students. Outside the classroom you may find him coaching hockey, basketball, and Track and Field throughout our various sports seasons.
