While not a curricular part of the RDS experience, we offer a number of excellent outdoor education experiences for all our grade school students.
- Grade 1-8 Camp Hurontario
- Grade 1-8 City Program
- Visits to Royal Ontario Museum
- New York and Washington Trips
- Ottawa and Quebec City Trips
We believe that the great Canadian outdoor experience can be a wonderful tool for developing the whole child.
Over five days in the last full week of school in June at Camp Hurontario, students have the opportunity to try new and challenging activities like rock-climbing, sailing, kayaking and archery. In addition, students again are challenged to work together in cooperative activities like the low ropes course in a beautiful Georgian Bay setting. The grade 7/8 class this year will be going on a two-day canoe trip to a local island near the camp and will be put in charge of the younger students for events like the skit night, scavenger hunt and mealtimes.
Students will have an opportunity to explore many attractions, events and programs in daily excursions around the GTA during camp week. Camp week is the final full week of school in June and is open to students in Grade 1-8 that choose not to attend Camp Hurontario.
